     The beauty of Gooseberry Pit attracts many people from all around. Just can't get enough of Gooseberry Pit. Camping at Armijo Campground is always a great experience, and you're perhaps interested in lakes, Quemado Lake is one of those close by. Since you're here at Gooseberry Pit why not check out El Caso Spring Canyon; El Caso Spring is always fun to check out. That right there is lots of cool stuff already but it goes on, the San Francisco Mountains has  
   it all.
Gooseberry Pit gets very little rainfall; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain while April is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Sawmill Camp Trail is always a brilliant adventure, and one of the principal characteristics of the surroundings of Gooseberry Pit is El Caso Peak. Gooseberry Pit is a beautiful lake in the San Francisco Mountains.
Summertime at Gooseberry
 
               Pit comes with high temperatures in the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. All through the wintertime the highs are commonly in the 40's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Gooseberry Pit. El Morro National Monument is a brilliant local destination here at Gooseberry Pit, and there is a tremendous hiking trail nearby called the Escondido Trail. Be careful coming to the San Francisco Mountains, you might not ever wanna go home again. On a good day at Gooseberry Pit you can take a hike along the Leslie Spring Trail; Gooseberry Pit is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Quemado Lake Campground is a wonderful local campground.
