Going for a hike on the Leslie Spring Trail is always a magnificent adventure, and the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at El Caso Spring. Gooseberry Pit is a beautiful lake in the San Francisco Mountains. It is very dried up here at Gooseberry Pit generally; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain while April is typically the driest       month. This lake is so wonderful. There are perfect locations to explore along the Escondido Trail, and El Caso Spring Canyon is another great spot to explore close by. If you love the outdoors you'll love it here in the San Francisco Mountains. Don't leave Gooseberry Pit without first going for a hike along the Sawmill Camp Trail. If time allows, El Morro National Monument is a national park worth visiting, and a stunning lake like Gabaldon Lake is a good location                  to stop by. High temperatures at Gooseberry Pit during the days of summer are in the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Gooseberry Pit. You'll beyond doubt wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing stuff in the San Francisco Mountains. Quemado Lake Campground is a wonderful local campground, and the panorama of El Caso Peak is stunning.
