    Glacier Lakes is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at McCrystal Creek Campground, and the slopes of Ski Rio are so inviting noone can resist. Glacier Lakes is a beautiful lake in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. These mountains rock, just look at all the cool things to do in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. If you came for an overnight stay Mallette Campground is a nice place to camp, and hey, Gotta  
   ski right? Red River is a pleasant place to do that.
After a long day outdoors Best Western River's Edge is a great location to spend a night or two, and Glacier Lakes is a nearby lake that you could go to. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Glacier Lakes with night lows in the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Glacier Lakes. If only every spot had this much outdoors cool stuff,
 
               what a great earth it would be. If you get bored of Glacier Lakes, you could also explore close by Lake Number Two.
It is very dry here at Glacier Lakes usually; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is January. One of the dominant characteristics of the surroundings of Glacier Lakes is Barker Dome, and on a perfect day you can take a hike along the Bernal Trail.

28 years ago as a 16 year/old Eagle Scout I was introduced to Latir. The pristine, grandure and soulful solitude of the Latir inspired me greatly. Last year I finally returned to Latir with my wife and 4 daughters. We found greatfully NOTHING had changed!!!! We spent 6 days exploring, fishing, and bonding. One entire afternoon was spent at Lake #7 shouting echoes to each other. Skip the plastic commericial touristy stuff...go to Latir!!!!...

It's a good ski mountain in my honest oppinion, good skiing, not too big and impersonal....
Really nice mid size resort with a good variety of runs and lots of snow. We come here every winter....
