Do stop by Garton Lake while you're in this part of New Mexico. Lots of folks from Alamogordo come to Garton Lake. A short visit to Harrington Spring is always worthwhile; if you need a location to stay Quality Inn Alamogordo is a good choice. Around Garton Lake you don’t get a lot of rainfall; during the month of August you get the most rain around here, and April is the month with the least moisture. | | place to do that, and after a long day outdoors Holloman Inn is a good place to spend a night or two. Throughout the summertime highs here at Garton Lake get into the 90's. Summer nighttime lows sink down to the 60's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 50's, and nighttime lows all through the wintertime for Garton Lake tend to be in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Rocket RV Park is always a perfect experience; as expected, all our national parks are fine places to stop by and White Sands National Monument is no exception.
