Fenton Lake is located in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. All year is a perfect time in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains if you have a thing about the outdoors. The panorama of pretty Lake Fork Mesa near Fenton Lake is splendid; the scenery at Fenton Lake Dam is pretty. Fenton Lake is frequently a reasonably arid place; August is when you get the most rain here; the driest of the months is April. Going for a hike on the Palomas       Trail is always a great adventure, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Pajarito Mountain. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Perchas Trail. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Fenton Lake has to offer, you can camp at Calaveras Campground. All through the warmest time of the year, highs frequently are in the 80's at Fenton Lake. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the                  40's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Fenton Lake. Nearby lakes? Sure, Calaveras Well is next to Fenton Lake, and Barley Canyon is a wonderful spot to spend some time. This lake is so wonderful. So many cool things to do here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, too magnificent to be true. Near Fenton Lake you discover the Padre Alonzo Trail which is a magnificent hiking trail, and you're probably keen on lakes, Lower Vallecito Reservoir is one of those nearby. So much fun stuff to do here at Fenton Lake, too wonderful to be true.
