Latir Lakes
 | 28 years ago as a 16 year/old Eagle Scout I was introduced to Latir. The pristine, grandure and soulful solitude of the Latir inspired me greatly. Last year I finally returned to Latir with my wife and 4 daughters. We found greatfully NOTHING had changed!!!! We spent 6 days exploring, fishing, and bonding. One entire afternoon was spent at Lake #7 shouting echoes to each other. Skip the plastic commericial touristy stuff...go to Latir!!!!... |

With a peak elevation of 11,819 feet, a base of 9,207 feet and 1,294 acres of ski trails, Taos offers varied and challenging terrain to delight skiers of all abilities. One of Taos' most enduring ski traditions is the steep skiing off The Ridge. This requires a hike of anywhere from 10 minutes to one hour to get to these ''extreme, double-diamond'' runs.
