If you like lakes and you're in this part of New Mexico you can check out Dry Lakes. Glide down the rapids of San Antonio River in a kayak; if you need a spot to stay Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs is a wonderful choice. Dry Lakes is a location that is quite dried up regularly; August is when you get the most rain here, and May is when it's the driest. At Dry Lakes you always meet someone from Espanola, and the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Sawmill Spring. Camping is available at El Ritito Campground. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Hopewell Lake Campground since you're here at Dry Lakes, and Lomita Motel is a tremendous spot to get some rest.
