Deadman Lake is usually a rather waterless place; the wettest month of the year is generally August, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is April. Stay the night at River Ranch Campground, and if you need a spot to stay Ramada Ruidoso Downs is a perfect choice. A trip to Deadman Canyon is always fun. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Ruidoso Downs-Days Inn, and you       can go for a hike on the Whiskey Trail. For the duration of the warmest time of the year here at Deadman Lake, high temperatures typically get into the 90's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 60's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 50's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Deadman Lake temperatures fall to the 20's. Man, is there plenty of fun things to do in the Sacramento Mountains. Good hiking is                  available along the Mitten Bar Trail. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Deadman Lake has to offer, you can camp at Rocky Mountain RV Park.
