    If you are in Santa Fe county it's always a good idea to stop by Dead Dog Well. There are some magnificent whitewater spots on Rio Santa Cruz; the Cochiti Frijoles Trail is a magnificent hiking trail nearby. Some close by water includes Alamo Creek; there is a pleasant hiking trail close by called the Capulin Canyon Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Skiing at Ski Santa Fe is one of those things you just have to do.
There's just no way someone can get bored here
 
   at Dead Dog Well. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Rio Grande, and going for a hike on the Atalaya Trail is always a tremendous adventure. At Dead Dog Well you don’t see much rainfall; throughout August this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. Dead Dog Well is not far at all from Santa Fe, and Comfort Inn Santa Fe is a great location to get some rest.
Through the months of summer highs here at Dead
 
               Dog Well get into the 80's; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. All through the winter the highs are generally in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Dead Dog Well. Trailer Ranch is a fine campground here; after a long day outdoors Fairfield Inn By Marriott Santa Fe is a nice place to spend a night or two. Dead Dog Well is a wonderful place to camp, Tesuque Pueblo RV Campground is a wonderful place, and Santa Fe National Historic Trail is a good local destination.
