La Cueva Lake is a nice lake to visit. Around La Cueva Lake you don’t get a lot of precipitation; August is the wettest month with most rain; February on the other hand is the driest. Just can't get enough of the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. La Cueva Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Agua Piedra Campground is a great local campground; there's brilliant hiking along the North End Trail. La Cueva Lake is one of the lakes here in the Sangre De

| | Cristo Mountains. Visit Duran Creek since you're here at La Cueva Lake. And if that's not sufficient there's a load more exciting stuff to do in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Taos - Days Inn is a glorious place to get some rest; the sight of beautiful La Cueva Peak is wonderful. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Rio Pueblo de Taos offers some tremendous whitewater; people from Taos love to come here. You assume that's enough? | |

Just getting warmed up. There's so much to do here at La Cueva Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Duran Canyon Campground is a wonderful location for that, and hiking is a popular thing to do around La Cueva Lake; Comales
Trail is a delightful local trail. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Taos Super 8 Motel, and a good place to explore close by is Arellano Canyon. The skiing at Taos is great, and great hiking is available along
the West Fork Angostura Trail. Throughout the summertime at La Cueva Lake temperatures are commonly in the 80's. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 30's; after the sun
is down through the wintertime temperatures at La Cueva Lake dip into the 0's. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Sipapu Ski is close to La Cueva Lake, and Gallegos Park is a glorious site.
