    Beautiful La Cueva Lake has much to offer visitors. If the weather is gorgeous, you get a fine panorama of La Cueva Peak from La Cueva Lake, and since you're here, you could also visit beautiful Indian Lake. You absolutely must like La Cueva Lake. There are plenty of people from Taos here at La Cueva Lake, and you can go for a hike on the Comales Trail. Going for a hike on the North End Trail is always a perfect adventure; La Cueva Lake is a great place to visit  
   for more than one day, Duran Canyon Campground is a great place to camp nearby.
La Cueva Lake is generally a pretty dried up place; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain while February is typically the driest month. During the summertime at La Cueva Lake highs are mostly in the 80's while overnight lows are mostly in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's with temperatures at La Cueva Lake dipping down into the
 
               0's through winter nights. Taos Super 8 Motel is a pleasant location to get some rest, and let's not forget Duran Creek which is a stream that you may bump into while here.
Having a splendid time in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains is trouble-free. While staying at La Cueva Lake you could always discover Arellano Canyon, and Romero Lake is a nearby lake that you could check out. This lake is so wonderful. There is a great hiking trail in the vicinity of La Cueva Lake called the West Fork Angostura Trail, and a pleasant visit to Gallegos Park is a good way to spend an afternoon. This lake is located in the wonderful Sangre De Cristo Mountains.
You feel that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. Skiing at Taos is one of those things you just should do. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors exciting things the Sangre De Cristo Mountains has to offer. Whitewater paddling is brilliant on Rio Pueblo de Taos; beautiful scenery and great skiing is what you get at Sipapu Ski. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Taos - Days Inn is a perfect choice, and you can stay the night at Agua Piedra Campground.
