Go to La Cueva Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. This lake is located in the wonderful Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Very gorgeous scenery and brilliant skiing is what you get at Sipapu Ski; the top of La Cueva Peak is easily seen from La Cueva Lake. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to La Cueva Lake, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter this place gets highs in the 30's while La Cueva Lake night

Not much rain falls here at La Cueva Lake; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful. Get covered with water paddling on Rio Pueblo de Taos, and nearby Arellano Canyon is a glorious place to go. from Taos, and if you came for an overnight stay Duran Canyon Campground is a good location to camp. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the North End Trail is wonderful fun; after a long day outdoors Taos Super 8 Motel is a wonderful
place to spend a night or two. This place, the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, has so much outdoors fun stuff. Duran Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth stopping at, and camping at La Cueva Lake is brilliant fun,
Agua Piedra Campground is a brilliant local campground. So many exciting things to do at La Cueva Lake, so little time. Dry warm beds await you at Taos - Days Inn, and you can have a great hiking adventure along the Comales Trail.
