Cowboy Lake is a lake worth visiting. Around Cowboy Lake you don’t get a lot of rainfall; through the month of July you get the most rain around here; January is the month with the least moisture. You clearly should adore the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. The Santa Fe Trail offers hiking at its best, and the slopes of Angel Fire are so inviting noone can resist. These mountains rock, just look at all the exciting things to do in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains.

| | What would winter be without some skiing at Sipapu Ski, and La Chuacha is scenic and can be made out from here. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Cowboy Lake. Throughout the moonlight hours it's generally in the 40's. Highs during the wintertime are regularly in the 30's; overnight lows throughout the wintertime for Cowboy Lake tend to be in the-10's. is one of the great places here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Camping is available at Sierra Bonita Cabins and RV Park, and you'll hit upon a pretty lake called Horse Lake.
