Summertime highs at Covel Lake generally tend to be in the 70's, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Covel Lake. Dry warm beds await you at Lodge at Cloudcroft, and if you're here, you might as well pop by Woodson Canyon. And that's not all the things to do here in the Sacramento Mountains. McDonald Flat is a pleasant       location here at Covel Lake, and camping at Covel Lake is fine fun, Sacramento Mountain Retreat is a fine local campground. This lake is so wonderful. You're in all probability addicted to lakes, Allen Lake is one of those nearby, and why not camp at James Canyon Campground if you're here at Covel Lake. Covel Lake gets a normal amount of yearly precipitation; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is April.
