Really splendid skiing awaits you at Ski Rio. Costilla Reservoir is located in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Be careful coming to the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, you might not ever wanna return home again. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Twining Blue Lake Trail, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at close by Red River. For the period       of the long summer days highs here at Costilla Reservoir get into the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 40's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 30's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Costilla Reservoir. Whohoo, so many cool things in one place! Costilla Reservoir rules! After a long day outdoors Econo Lodge Eagle Nest is a great site to spend a night or two, and hiking is a popular thing                  to do around Costilla Reservoir; Lost Lake Trail is a pleasant local trail. This lake is so wonderful. Getting to Allen Creek from Costilla Reservoir is easy; Costilla Reservoir is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Mallette Campground is a magnificent local campground. A great nearby hotel is Best Western River's Edge, and camping at Roadrunner Campground is always a glorious experience. There's pleasant hiking along the Bernal Trail, and nearby you discover Blind Canyon which is a fine spot to visit. Costilla Reservoir is a location that is reasonably dried out regularly; during the month of August you get the most rain around here; January meanwhile is the driest month. That right there is lots of cool things already but it goes on, the Sangre De Cristo Mountains has it all.
