This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Pine Spring Campground, and on a splendid day you can take a hike along the Tejas Trail. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining things in the Guadalupe Mountains. There is a good hiking trail in close proximity to Coats Lake called the Ussery Trail, and stopping by Guadalupe Mountains National Park is just something you need to do if you haven't yet. At Coats Lake you don’t       see much rainfall; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain; March on the other hand is the driest. Summertime highs at Coats Lake generally tend to be in the 80's. Through the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 50's while Coats Lake night low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 20's. Coats Lake is located in the Guadalupe Mountains.
