This lake is so wonderful. Comfort Inn Alamosa is a magnificent site to get some rest, and there are some great whitewater spots on Rio de los Pinos. So much exciting stuff to do here in the San Juan Mountains, too good to be true. Get yourself into a kayak and hit San Antonio River, and camping is available at Rio De Los Pinos Campground. From Chino Dry Lake you obtain a brilliant       view of Chino Peak. For the duration of the summertime months at Chino Dry Lake highs are frequently in the 70's with overnight lows in the 40's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 30's with temperatures at Chino Dry Lake dipping down into the-10's through winter nights. Chino Dry Lake is a location that is relatively dry frequently; July is the wettest month with most rain, and January is when it's the driest.
