There's so much to do here at Chicosa Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Mills Canyon Campground is a delightful site for that. Not much precipitation falls here at Chicosa Lake; through August this area sees the most rain, and January on the other hand is the driest. There are other places here than Chicosa Lake, for example Dry lake, and if you're looking for a brilliant journey, Capulin       Volcano National Monument is reasonably near. Summertime at Chicosa Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's while overnight lows are mostly in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Chicosa Lake. This lake is so wonderful.
