     After a long day outdoors The Abiquiu Inn is a splendid location to spend a night or two, and needless to say, this is a perfect region for people who like lakes, Laguna de las Ranas is a lake in the vicinity. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Lemitas Trail; this is a popular location for people from Espanola. It is very dried up here at Laguna Chico mostly; through the month of August you get the most rain around here while April is the month with  
   the least amount of precipitation.
This lake is so wonderful. A fine site for whitewater paddling close to Laguna Chico is Rio Chama. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Laguna Chico has to offer, you can camp at Middle Canjilon Campground. So many cool things in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, just phenomenal. Stay the night at Canjilon Creek Campground; if you want a little side visit, try Canon Largo.
Laguna Chico is located in the
 
               San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Espanola, and going for a hike on the Palacio Trail is always a fine adventure. And that's not all the things to do here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Near Laguna Chico you stumble on the Apache Trail which is a delightful hiking trail, and do put some time aside to spend at Cholejo Spring since you're here at Laguna Chico.
All the outdoors exciting things near Laguna Chico will keep you coming back time and again. In case you don’t mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Rio Ojo Caliente. Lakes are fine; Laguna Pinabete Mocho is a lake that's close to Laguna Chico. Throughout the warmest time of the year here at Laguna Chico, high temperatures mostly get into the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's generally in the 40's. During the winter the highs are generally in the 30's; nighttime lows all through the wintertime for Laguna Chico tend to be in the 0's.
