This lake is so wonderful. There is a delightful hiking trail in close proximity to Cherrytree Lake called the Capitan Peak Trail, and Cherrytree Lake is a wonderful place to visit for more than one day, Mountain High RV Park is a wonderful place to camp nearby. Cherrytree Lake is pretty dry mostly; August is when you get the most rain here while January is frequently the driest       month. After a long day outdoors Ruidoso Downs-Days Inn is a nice place to spend a night or two, and going for a hike on the Mitten Bar Trail is always a great adventure. Near Cherrytree Lake you discover the Summit Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail. For the period of the long summer days highs here at Cherrytree Lake reach the 90's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs                  in the 50's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Cherrytree Lake.
