There's so much to do here at Cherry Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Mountain High RV Park is a wonderful spot for that, and Cherry Lake is near Ellis Canyon which is unquestionably worth a visit. Cherry Lake is a beautiful lake in the Sacramento Mountains. All the outdoors enjoyable things near Cherry Lake will keep you coming back repeatedly. This lake is so wonderful.       Stay the night at Baca Campground, and don't leave Cherry Lake without first going for a hike along the Mitten Bar Trail. A tremendous panorama of charming Baca Mesa is available from Cherry Lake, and going for a hike on the Whiskey Trail is always a glorious adventure. Cherry Lake is pretty dehydrated frequently; through the month of August you get the most rain around here, and January is the month with the least moisture. Life's too short to enjoy all                  the exciting things in the Sacramento Mountains. Dry warm beds await you at Ruidoso Downs-Days Inn, and there are delightful sites to look at along the Capitan Peak Trail. High temperatures at Cherry Lake through the summertime are in the 90's. During the moonlight hours it's generally in the 60's.
