    Why not stop by Laguna Cerro Negro if you're passing through these parts. This lake is so wonderful. Laguna Cerro Negro is a tremendous site to visit for more than one day, El Ritito Campground is a tremendous site to camp nearby, and after a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Espanola is a good place to spend a night or two. From Laguna Cerro Negro you acquire a delightful view of Cerro Colorado; magnificent hiking is available along the Apache Trail. Summertime  
   highs at Laguna Cerro Negro generally tend to be in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Laguna Cerro Negro are in the 10's.
Just can't get enough of Laguna Cerro Negro. Abiquiu Inn is a great local campground, and going for a hike on the Lemitas Trail is always a glorious adventure. Get soaked paddling on Rio Ojo Caliente; if you're here you
 
               will meet lots of folks from close by Espanola. But wait, there's more entertaining things to do in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Rio Chama, and dry warm beds await you at Espanola-Days Inn.
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Go for a hike on the Palacio Trail. Laguna Cerro Negro gets very little rain; during the month of August you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is December.
