    If you are traveling by, why not stop by Laguna Cerro Negro. Laguna Cerro Negro is located in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Go for a hike on the Lemitas Trail, and you can stay the night at El Ritito Campground. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors enjoyable stuff the San Juan and Jemez Mountains has to offer. Don't leave Laguna Cerro Negro without first going for a hike along the Palacio Trail, and Abiquiu Inn is a great campground nearby.
 
   Around Laguna Cerro Negro you don’t get a lot of precipitation; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and December is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Laguna Cerro Negro is not far at all from Espanola, and you can run the rapids of Rio Ojo Caliente. Having a good time in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains is trouble-free. Good hiking is available along the Apache Trail, and dry warm beds await you at
