Cantwell Lake is a beautiful lake in the Sacramento Mountains. Cantwell Lake gets a common amount of annual precipitation; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest of the months is April. Through the warm days of summer at Cantwell Lake temperatures are regularly in the 70's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 40's. Through the winter this place gets highs       in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Cantwell Lake. This lake is so wonderful. A charming lake like McDonald Lake in close proximity to Cantwell Lake is a perfect place to visit, and camping is available at James Canyon Campground. Man, is there a heap of amusing stuff to do in the Sacramento Mountains. Do stop at Allen Lake right next door to Cantwell Lake, it's a picturesque lake, and while you're here at Cantwell Lake it's a tremendous                  idea to check out McDonald Flat.
