    A visit to Calaveras Well is always a good idea. Calaveras Well is a beautiful lake in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is great here at Calaveras Well, you can go for a hike along the Palomas Trail, and why not head up to Pajarito Mountain and strap some skis to your feet. And that's not all you can do here at Calaveras Well.
Not much rainfall falls here at Calaveras Well; of all the months in a year August is the
 
   one with the most rain, and April on the other hand is the driest. These mountains rock, just check out all the exciting stuff to do in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. While you're here at Calaveras Well you can take a hike along the Perchas Trail; Calaveras Campground is a good campground nearby. Have a great hiking adventure along the Redonda Trail, and Seven Springs Campground is a great local campground.
High temperatures at Calaveras Well during the
 
               long summer days are in the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Calaveras Well. If you come at the right time of year, Jemez River offers some splendid whitewater, and if you feel like a little side journey, try Pony Canyon.
