It is very dehydrated here at Burton Reservoir generally; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain while November is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. A visit to Petroglyph National Monument is worthwhile. | |

Burton Reservoir is a place with many visitors from Albuquerque, and a lake nearby is Miles Reservoir. Go for a hike on the Embudo Trail, and camping at Burton Reservoir is pleasant fun, Best Western Inn is a pleasant local campground.
A short tour to Clear Water Spring is always worthwhile; Burton Reservoir is a pleasant place to camp, Albuquerque Central KOA is a pleasant place. Head up to Sandia Peak and strap some skis to your feet, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Burton Reservoir; Faulty Trail is a splendid local trail.
