This lake is located in the wonderful Sacramento Mountains. Burro Lake gets very little rain; August is the wettest month with most rain; the driest of the months is April. If you came for an overnight stay River Ranch Campground is a delightful spot to camp; hiking along the Perk Ridge Trail is delightful fun. For the duration of the warm days of summer, highs mostly are in the 90's at Burro Lake. When the night sets       in temperatures drop down into the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 50's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Burro Lake. If you need a site to stay Ramada Ruidoso Downs is a great choice; a day on the slopes of Ski Apache is just what you need. Any time is a nice time at Burro Lake if you like the outdoors. After a long day outdoors Ruidoso Downs-Days Inn is a delightful site to spend a night or two, and you can have a delightful hiking                  adventure along the Base Trail. Be careful coming to the Sacramento Mountains, you might not ever wanna go back home again. Burro Lake is right by the Whiskey Trail; you'll locate a lovely lake called Wire Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Rocky Mountain RV Park is a perfect local campground, and since you're here, you could also explore pretty Rock Water Holes.
