Ken Rice: Why are there no definitive maps of fishing lakes in Otero County? I have searched the internet but to no avail. Having just moved here from Texas, I am disappointed in the lack of information.

If you are in this part of New Mexico make sure to pay a visit to Bonito Lake. This lake is so wonderful. A lake nearby is Blue Hole Pond; Swiss Chalet Inn is a nice spot to get some rest. If you want a fine time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Bonito Lake. If you need a place to stay Hotel Ruidoso is a magnificent choice, and going for a hike on the Crest Trail is always a perfect adventure. Bonito Lake is one of the lakes here in the Sacramento

| | Mountains. All through the long summer days at Bonito Lake highs are generally in the 90's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 60's. For the period of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 50's with temperatures at Bonito Lake dipping down into the 20's during winter nights. Bonito Lake gets very little rain; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is April. | |

Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining things in the Sacramento Mountains. Bonito Lake is a glorious place to camp, Monjeau Campground is a glorious place, and you can go for a hike on the North Eagle Trail. From Bonito Lake
you obtain a wonderful vista of Loma Grande, and a short tour to Fox Spring is always worthwhile. Anan Canyon is a good spot to take a look at close by, and there's some attention-grabbing stuff to make out at Bonito Dam close to
Bonito Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Take a little tour to Bonito Creek if you're here at Bonito Lake; there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Ski Apache. All year is a good time in the Sacramento Mountains if
you adore the outdoors. Stay the night at Skyline Campground II, and there are fine locations to explore along the Wet Mills Trail.
