If time allows, El Malpais National Monument is a national park worth a visit, and there are other locations here than Bluewater Lake, for example Rock Dam. These mountains rock, just explore all the amusing stuff to do in the Zuni Mountains. Camping at Bluewater Campground is always a great experience, and Bluewater Dam is an attention-grabbing thing to check out. This lake is so wonderful. Not far from Bluewater Lake, you'll       stumble on Agua Media which is a gorgeous lake, and a good location is Las Tusas Valley. A glorious spot to camp here at Bluewater Lake is Grants West Camp Ground. During the months of summer highs here at Bluewater Lake get into the 80's with night lows in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's while Bluewater Lake overnight low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 10's. The Zuni Mountains scenery is always beautiful.
