A visit to Blue Lake is always a good idea. After a long day outdoors Econo Lodge Eagle Nest is a wonderful location to spend a night or two, and don't leave Blue Lake without first going for a hike along the Lost Lake Trail. During the warm months here at Blue Lake, high temperatures regularly reach the 80's, and the nighttime is a bit colder of course, usually in the 40's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's; during the dark hours in the winter

| | at Blue Lake temperatures fall to the 0's. And that's not all the things you can do here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. At Blue Lake you can catch a sight of Lew Wallace Peak; everybody nearby loves skiing at Angel Fire.

things to do in close proximity to Blue Lake. Blue Lake is not the only place close by, Bear Lake is a close by lake, and Red River is a magnificent local ski area.
Hiking is a popular thing to do around Blue Lake; Burnt Ridge
Trail is a pleasant local trail. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Blue Lake has to offer, you can camp at Italianos Campground. This lake is so wonderful. There's wonderful hiking along the Twining Blue Lake Trail,
and a lake close by is Horseshoe Lake. Around Blue Lake you don’t get a lot of rainfall; most of the rain falls through August, and February is when it's the driest.
So much cool stuff in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, just
remarkable. At Blue Lake you always meet someone from Taos; if you need a spot to stay Best Western River's Edge is a delightful choice.
