Stay the night at Twining Campground, and if you've had enough of Blue Lake, Water Bird Lake is close by. This lake is so wonderful. Here at Blue Lake you'll possibly meet some people from Taos. All through the warm months at Blue       Lake highs are usually in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's, and after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Blue Lake descend into the 0's. Blue Lake is located in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. While you're here at Blue Lake you can take a hike along the Twining Blue Lake Trail,                  and after a long day outdoors Best Western River's Edge is a good place to spend a night or two. So much entertaining stuff to do in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, not enough time. You could also take a look at Star Lake if you're here at Blue Lake; it's close by; if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Burnt Ridge Trail. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Blue Lake has to offer, you can camp at Italianos Campground, and you can see Lew Wallace Peak from Blue Lake. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Red River; Econo Lodge Eagle Nest is a brilliant place to get some rest.
