New Mexico has many beautiful lakes and Black Lake is one of them. Black Lake is regularly a pretty waterless place; during the month of September you get the most rain around here, and March is the month with the least moisture. And that's not everything you can do here in the Guadalupe Mountains. There's so much to do here at Black Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Queen Store Cafe and RV Park is a brilliant site for that, and the beauty of mother
nature reveals herself at Hog Spring.
Hiking is a popular thing to do around Black Lake; Ussery Trail is a pleasant local trail, and not far from Black Lake you'll hit upon Black River Water Storage which is a wonderful lake. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Golden Stairway Trail, and if you came to camp Pine Spring Campground is a great place to do that. If only every site had this much outdoors exciting stuff, what

a great planet it would be. Hog Spring Canyon is a nice place to look at, and there are other spots here than Black Lake, for example Mail Box.
This lake is one of the great places here in the Guadalupe Mountains. For the period of the warm days of summer, highs usually are in the 80's at Black Lake. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 50's; nighttime lows through the wintertime for Black Lake tend to be in the 30's. So much exciting stuff in the Guadalupe Mountains, just unbelievable. Take a hike on the Wilderness Ridge - Shumard Trail, and going to Guadalupe Mountains National Park is just something you need to do if you haven't yet.
