    Black Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. This lake is one of the great places here in the Guadalupe Mountains. Near Black Lake you hit upon the Golden Stairway Trail which is a delightful hiking trail, and Hog Spring is an inspiring spot to have a look at while you're here. Black Lake is a location that is reasonably dehydrated typically; the wettest month of the year is commonly September, that's the one that rains the most;
   the driest month of the year is March.
This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Wilderness Ridge - Shumard Trail is always a glorious adventure, and Hog Spring Canyon is another great site to go to nearby. So much entertaining stuff to do in the Guadalupe Mountains, not sufficient time. Black Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Pine Spring Campground is a great local campground, and don't miss out on a trip to Guadalupe Mountains National

               Park while you're here. If you want a great time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Black Lake.
For the duration of the warm days of summer at Black Lake highs are generally in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are frequently in the 50's, and after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Black Lake sink into the 30's. The Ussery Trail is a brilliant hiking trail close to Black Lake, and if you came to camp Queen Store Cafe and RV Park is a great site to do that.
