Fort Union National Monument is a great place right next door to Beaver Ponds; Burn Peak is wonderful and can be observed from here. Summertime at Beaver Ponds comes with high temperatures in the 70's; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. All through the winter the highs are commonly in the 30's; night lows at Beaver Ponds during the winter regularly sink into the-10's. If you like the outdoors you'll like       it here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Angel Fire has wonderful slopes and a friendly staff; nearby Bear Canyon is a brilliant place to go. Sierra Bonita Cabins and RV Park is a brilliant campground here, and if you need a place to stay Angel Fire Resort is a great choice. Beaver Ponds is a beautiful lake in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. This place, the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, has so much outdoors fun stuff.
