There's so much to do here at Beaver Lake that you need to camp here for a while, McCrystal Creek Campground is a good place for that, and the skiing at Red River is good. Beaver Lake is pretty waterless generally; all through August this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is January. All the outdoors cool things in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains will keep you coming back over       and over. Beaver Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Mallette Campground is a good local campground; while you're here you can take a hike along the Bernal Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Lake Number One is a nearby lake that you could check out, and a good site is Long Canyon. During the summertime months here at Beaver Lake, high temperatures generally get into the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 40's.                  For the period of the winter highs are typically in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Beaver Lake temperatures drop to the-10's. Yeah, come up here to the Sangre De Cristo Mountains for a brilliant time. The Sangre De Cristo Mountains scenery is always beautiful. This location is excellent, just check out all the fun stuff to do right next door to Beaver Lake. A day on the slopes of Ski Rio is just what you need, and Econo Lodge Eagle Nest is a brilliant place to get some rest.
