This lake is one of the great places here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Now, you may believe that's a load but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here at Beatty Lakes. Be careful coming to the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, you might not ever want to return back home again. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Beatty Lakes; Lost Lake Trail is a perfect local trail, and if you need a location to stay Econo Lodge       Eagle Nest is a pleasant choice. Beatty Lakes is a location that is relatively dried out ordinarily; most of the rain falls throughout August while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Very charming scenery and tremendous skiing is what you get at Angel Fire, and McCrystal Creek Campground is a nice campground here. What would winter be without some skiing at Red River, and a good nearby hotel is Best Western River's Edge. During                  the summer months highs here at Beatty Lakes reach the 70's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's typically in the 40's. All through the winter highs are in the 30's, and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Beatty Lakes temperatures drop to the 0's. This lake is so wonderful.
