Beard Lake gets very little rain; August is when you get the most rain here; January meanwhile is the driest month. Copeland Canyon is a tremendous site to explore, and there is a magnificent hiking trail nearby called the Capitan Peak Trail. Ruidoso Downs-Days Inn is a great location to get some rest, and you can go for a hike on the Mitten Bar Trail. The warmest time of the year at Beard Lake       comes with high temperatures in the 90's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. For the duration of the wintertime highs are usually in the 50's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Beard Lake temperatures sink to the 20's. Mountain High RV Park is a perfect local campground. This lake is so wonderful.
