Bear Lake is located in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Having a magnificent time in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains is trouble-free. There is a nice hiking trail close to Bear Lake called the Number 3 Lift Trail, and Ski Rio is a very popular ski area in close proximity. Summertime highs at Bear Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 80's with night lows in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the       30's, and nighttime lows in the 0's for Bear Lake. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors cool stuff the Sangre De Cristo Mountains has to offer. Enjoy a round of golf at Red Eagle Golf Course not far from Bear Lake, and if you've had enough of Bear Lake, Heart Lake is nearby. This lake is so wonderful. A great nearby hotel is Econo Lodge Eagle Nest; close by you hit upon the Twining Blue Lake Trail which is a good hiking trail. Around Bear Lake you                  don’t get a lot of rain; the wettest month of the year is typically August, that's the one that rains the most while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Hit the slopes at Red River close at hand. This place, Bear Lake, it truly has so much outdoors enjoyable stuff. Whitewater paddling is good on Rio Grande, and if you came to camp Red River RV Park is a magnificent place to do that. If you need a place to stay Best Western River's Edge is a brilliant choice. There's so much to do here at Bear Lake that you need to camp here for a while, River Ranch is a splendid place for that. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Lost Lake Trail is always a brilliant adventure; if the weather is gorgeous, you get a delightful panorama of Baldy Mountain from Bear Lake.
