Bear Lake is a lake worth visiting. Lake Fork Peak is easy to spot from Bear Lake. But wait, there's more fun things to do in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. After a long day outdoors Best Western River's Edge is a glorious location to spend a night or two, and Bear Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Italianos Campground is a great local campground. Everybody close by loves skiing at Taos; Red River is a splendid whitewater spot close by. This lake is so wonderful. Waterbird Lake is a delightful lake close by. It is very dried up here at Bear Lake usually; the month with most of the rain is August, and February is the month with the least moisture. While you're here at Bear Lake you can
take a hike along the Lost Lake Trail. There's so much to do here at Bear Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Twining Campground is a perfect location for that. If you want a perfect time in the great outdoors, just come
on down to Bear Lake. Going for a hike along the Twining Blue Lake Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region, and Martinez Canyon is a good site to stop by. The Sangre De Cristo Mountains scenery is always beautiful.
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. On a brilliant day at Bear Lake you can take a hike along the Burnt Ridge Trail; in the event that you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Rio Grande.
