A lake close by is Gunn Lake, and camping at Mills Canyon Campground is always a tremendous experience. Capulin Volcano National Monument is a pleasant spot close to Baum Lake, unsurprisingly you could also have a look at Morgan Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. This lake is so wonderful.
