     Barkley Lake is always a pleasure to visit. These mountains rock, just explore all the cool things to do in the Sacramento Mountains. Bible Canyon is a tremendous place to spend some time at, and everyone loves Miller Flats. A common amount of rain falls here at Barkley Lake; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain; the driest month of the year is April. James Canyon Campground is a good local campground.
This lake is so wonderful.
 
   You'll stumble on a beautiful lake called Allen Lake near Barkley Lake, and if you came for an overnight stay Dear Spring Recreational Vehicle Park is a nice place to camp. This lake is located in the wonderful Sacramento Mountains. A brilliant close by hotel is Lodge at Cloudcroft, and lakes are such calm spots, why not go to Wilson Lake.
High temperatures at Barkley Lake through the summertime are in the 70's, and all through summer nights temperatures
 
               are in the 40's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Barkley Lake are in the 10's.

The person in the Office said they had just stocked the lake the night before.  When we went fishing that day, we couldn't catch any fish, as a matter of fact there were about 30 other people around the lake, aside from the 8 people in our party fishing at different parts of the lake.  Nobody caught anything during the whole time there.  Very Disappointed.  Bathrooms are really nasty, with graffiti everywhere and trash everywhere.  Very poorly kept campground. ...
