If you are in Mora county it's always a good idea to stop by Apache Lake. Cerro del Amole is clearly visible from Apache Lake, and Fort Union National Monument is one of the destinations that are glorious to pop by close by. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Santa Fe Trail is always a magnificent adventure, and Amador Lake is a nearby lake that you could take a look at.
