Summertime highs at Amador Lake regularly tend to be in the 80's. Summer night lows dip down to the 40's. During the winter highs are in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Amador Lake are in the 10's. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool things in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Amador Lake is a fine spot to visit for more than one day, Pendaries RV Resort is a fine spot to camp nearby, and getting to La Canada del       Carro from Amador Lake is simple. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Amador Lake you can take a hike along the Santa Fe Trail; a day on the slopes of Angel Fire is just what you need. So much fun stuff in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, just phenomenal. If the weather is nice here at Amador Lake, you can go for a hike along the Gascon Trail. A trip to Fort Union National Monument is recommended, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood                  you can always pop by close by Red Lake. Man, is there lots of exciting stuff to do near Amador Lake. Trails End RV Park is a splendid local campground, and not far from Amador Lake you'll discover La Cueva Reservoir which is a pretty lake. Around Amador Lake you don’t get a lot of rainfall; through July this area sees the most rain; January on the other hand is the driest. A good nearby hotel is Angel Fire Resort, and on a wonderful day you obtain a perfect view of El Cerro Colorado from Amador Lake.
