In case you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Pecos River, and Laguna del Tuloso is a glorious lake close by. Aguage is a site with many visitors from Las Vegas; a beautiful lake like Punta de la Mesa is a fine place to have a look at.
