This lake is so wonderful. Agua Fria Lake is pretty dried out ordinarily; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and the driest month of the year is January. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing stuff in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Apache Peak can be observed from Agua Fria Lake, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Burnt Ridge Trail. A lovely lake like Middle Lake next to       Agua Fria Lake is a magnificent place to stop by, and hiking along the Lost Lake Trail is nice fun. Through the summer at Agua Fria Lake highs are generally in the 70's while night lows are usually in the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Agua Fria Lake dipping down into the-10's during winter nights. Stay the night at Monte Verde RV Park, and dry warm beds await you at Econo Lodge Eagle Nest. So much fun stuff in the                  Sangre De Cristo Mountains, just incredible. Don't miss out on a tour to Fort Union National Monument since you're here at Agua Fria Lake; Sierra Bonita Cabins and RV Park is a nice campground here. This lake is so wonderful. Angel Fire is a brilliant local ski area; after a long day outdoors Angel Fire Resort is a glorious site to spend a night or two. You imagine that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. Take a hike on the Kit Carson Trail, and Wild Horse Park is a good location to check out.
