This is a great vicinity for people who like lakes. Matthews Lake is a lake close by, and Sunset Valley Golf Course is a tremendous golf course nearby. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Zeliff Pond has to offer, you can camp at Camp Ocawasin Lodge; a good close by hotel is Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites PARSIPPANY FAIRFIELD. High temperatures at Zeliff Pond through the months of summer are in the 80's. Summer night lows                  drop down to the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Zeliff Pond temperatures plunge to the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Why not visit Zeliff Pond Dam if you're here, and a day on the slopes of Mt. Peter is just what you need. Get dripping wet paddling on Rockaway River, and going for a hike along the Cannonball Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. The high level of precipitation makes Zeliff Pond a rather wet location; the month with most of the rain is July while February is mostly the driest month. Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting stuff near Zeliff Pond. You get a brilliant sight of Torne Mountain from Zeliff Pond, and why not head up to Hidden Valley and strap some skis to your feet. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Zeliff Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Motor Sports Marina and Campground is a magnificent location for that, and if you're here you can take a hike along the Kakiat Trail.
