If you come at the right time of year, Popolopen Creek offers some glorious whitewater, and if you're a golfer then a good nearby course is Apple Ridge Country Club. Whohoo, so many cool things in one place! Winters Pond is peerless!. Near Winters Pond you come across the Pine Meadow Trail which is a good hiking trail, and if you need a spot to stay Homewood Suites Mahwah is a splendid choice.

Camp Hlond Reservoir near Winters Pond, and float down the rapids of Ramapo River in a kayak. Going for a hike on the Cannonball Trail is always a fine adventure, and Houvenkopf Mountain is trouble-free to spot from Winters Pond.
Mahwah River flows through this region, and the Kakiat Trail is a great hiking trail close by.
For the period of the summer here at Winters Pond, high temperatures regularly get into the 80's, and through the night it cools down
to the 60's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Winters Pond dip into the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Winters Pond is a good site to visit for
more than one day, Baker Camp On Lake Sebago is a good site to camp nearby, and what would winter be without some skiing at Mt. Peter.
