A visit to Winters Pond is always a good idea. A lake close by is Sunset Lake, and you can catch a glimpse of Houvenkopf Mountain from Winters Pond. The skiing at Mt. Peter is nice, and there's fine hiking along the Kakiat Trail. Winters Pond is a relatively wet place usually with a good deal of rain; during the month of May you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is February. | | to say you could also explore Lake Antrim while you're here; it's not far at all. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Cannonball Trail, and you can stay the night at Baker Camp On Lake Sebago. Man, is there a heap of fun things to do near Winters Pond. Why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Apple Ridge Country Club, and it's a good idea to take a look at Mahwah River. This lake is so wonderful. spot to get some rest. There's so much to do here at Winters Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Camp wabenaki is a fine place for that. High temperatures at Winters Pond during the summer are in the 80's. When the night
sets in temperatures dip down into the 60's. For the period of the wintertime highs are typically in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Winters Pond are in the 10's. If only every place had this much outdoors exciting stuff,
what a great world it would be. This lake is so wonderful. A day on the slopes of Sterling Forest is just what you need, and a splendid close by hotel is Comfort Suites Mahwah. If you come at the right time of year, Popolopen Creek offers some splendid whitewater, and drift down the rapids of Ramapo River in a kayak.
