On a wonderful day you can take a look at Franklin Swamp, a swamp in close proximity to Vitale Pond, and if you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Ramapo River. This lake is so wonderful. Pequannock River has a good whitewater paddling spot nearby, and Vitale Pond is right by the Kakiat Trail. Why not spend some time golfing at a close by golf course like Packanack Golf Club, and a       tremendous close by hotel is Wyndham International. Gotta ski! Sterling Forest is a good site to do that; one of the overriding characteristics of the surroundings of Vitale Pond is Preakness Mountain. You clearly should love Vitale Pond. Hiking along the Pine Meadow Trail is wonderful fun, and if you need a place to stay Residence Inn by Marriott Wayne is a good choice. Vitale Pond frequently gets a lot of rain; May is when you get the most rain here,                  and February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Camp wabenaki, and a gorgeous lake like Baker Pond is a great place to visit. What would winter be without some skiing at Mt. Peter. Camping at Motor Sports Marina and Campground is always a good experience, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Cannonball Trail. Throughout the summertime at Vitale Pond highs are frequently in the 80's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's.
