Many people like to go to Sunset Lake. Homewood Suites Mahwah is a magnificent site to get some rest, and Baker Camp On Lake Sebago is a good campground nearby. After a long day outdoors Comfort Suites Mahwah is a great place to spend a night or two, and you can stay the night at Camp wabenaki. This lake is so wonderful. Ramapo River has a wonderful whitewater paddling spot nearby, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Sterling Forest.

| | Hit the slopes at Mt. Peter in the neighborhood, and paddling on Pequannock River is so much fun. Mahwah River is a magnificent local stream, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always check out nearby Winters Pond. But wait, there's more to do in close proximity to Sunset Lake. If the weather is pleasant here at Sunset Lake, you can go for a hike along the Pine Meadow Trail; for you golfers we recommend close by Apple Ridge Country Club.

Hiking along the Cannonball Trail is great fun, and Houvenkopf Mountain is clearly visible from Sunset Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes? Sure, Dators Pond is close at hand; going for a hike along the Kakiat Trail will let you
absorb the natural beauty of this region. Just can't get enough of Sunset Lake.
Sunset Lake is a wet site that gets a large amount of rain; the month with most of the rain is May while February is frequently the driest month.
Summertime at Sunset Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's with overnight lows in the 60's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Sunset Lake.
