What a nice lake Spruce Run Reservoir is. A perfect nearby hotel is Holiday Inn Select Clinton, Nj, and if you've had enough of Spruce Run Reservoir, Jutland Lake is nearby. You could also pop by Lingerts Pond while you're here at Spruce Run Reservoir; it's nearby, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Raritan River - South Branch. All the water falling down from the sky makes Spruce Run Reservoir a wet spot; May is the month that gets the most rain; February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. You can take a little trip to Clinton
Mills Dam while you're here at Spruce Run Reservoir, and let's not forget Beaver Brook which is a stream that you may come across during your stay.

Camp Bernie-YMCA

Camp Bernie is able to provide a traditional co-ed Overnight Camp Experience during the summer. Our sessions last for 13 days, and serve children from grades 2 through 10. In addition, we provide 9 weeks of Adventure Day Camp for the local communities, each session lasting from Monday through Friday.
We also offer year round programming consisting of Outdoor Education for school groups, and Group and Family Camping as well. I live less than a mile from this place. Me, my brother, and his friend decided to try to fish here. We found an old canoe with a tag on it that said 1855. We drained the water and paddled out with toy shovels. 90% of this lake is about 1 foot deep. Once you get to the dam-looking part it drops to about 7-9. We fished for about a half hour. Didn't catch anything, or even see a fish (the waters clear as day)....Great for fishing, late at night when the bugs are flying on the surface, the trout jump out and get them. Too bad they don't go for your hook. I've caught sunnys trout and large mouth there. Great place that nobody else fishes at; my own little secret spot ha ha.... |

We have stayed at the Fla-Net Campground twice. I find it very peaceful with nice surroundings and a friendly staff. It is close to shopping and restaurants. The restrooms/showers could use an update. I look forward to staying there again.... |
