If the weather is lovely, you get a glorious vista of Mount Defiance from Sheppard Pond, and going for a hike on the Cannonball Trail is always a brilliant adventure. Go for a hike on the Kakiat Trail, and Pequannock River has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby. The Ramapo Mountains is a major highlight of the neighborhood around Sheppard Pond; delightful hiking is available along       the Pine Meadow Trail. If you need a place to stay Sheraton Crossroads Hotel is a glorious choice; pretty scenery and delightful skiing is what you get at Mt. Peter. Sheppard Pond in fact is in the middle of a delightful outdoors paradise. Camp wabenaki is a great campground nearby, and nothing beats kicking back at Old Sebago Beach. Bear Swamp is an attention-grabbing swamp in close proximity to Sheppard Pond, and if you don’t have a problem getting wet,                  you can always go whitewater paddling on Ramapo River. Here at Sheppard Pond you'll most likely meet some folks from New York-Newark-Edison, and a pretty lake like Potake Pond is a good place to check out. This lake is so wonderful. You are next to North Cape while you're here at Sheppard Pond, and if you're looking for a beach close by we recommend New Sebago Beach. This lake is so wonderful. A pleasant spree to The Bowl is a great way to spend an afternoon, and Baker Camp On Lake Sebago is a good local campground. Throughout the months of summer at Sheppard Pond temperatures are commonly in the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 50's. Highs throughout the wintertime are ordinarily in the 30's; nighttime lows through the wintertime for Sheppard Pond tend to be in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Summit Brook is a fine place to visit; Courtyard By Marriott Mahwah is a magnificent place to get some rest. Sheppard Pond sees pretty high levels of rain; the month with most of the rain is November while February is mostly the driest month. What a place this is for outdoors people. Lakes are such peaceful locations, why not stop at Glasmere Ponds close to Sheppard Pond, and hey, Gotta ski right?
