Alpine Mountain is a very popular ski area around here, and the Flat Ridge Trail is a splendid hiking trail nearby. This lake is so wonderful. The sights at Delaware National Scenic River will blow your mind; if you've had enough of Sand Pond, Mountain Ridge Lake is close by. Whohoo,       so many amusing things in one place! Sand Pond is excellent! A nice close by hotel is Value Inn East Stroudsburg. There's so much to do here at Sand Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Walpack Valley Campground is a good spot for that. Sand Pond sees pretty high levels of precipitation; May is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest of the months is February. If the weather is perfect here at Sand Pond, you can go for a hike along the Bald                  Barren Trail; Sand Pond is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Appalacian Mountain Club is a delightful local campground. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Fernwood Hotel and Resort is a wonderful choice, and get your heart beating on the splendid whitewater of Bush Kill Creek. Shawnee Mountain has good slopes and a friendly staff; Sand Pond is not the only site nearby, Meadows Lake is a nearby lake. High temperatures at Sand Pond during the summer are in the 80's. Through the moonlight hours it's usually in the 50's.
