This lake is so wonderful. Drift down the rapids of Pequannock River in a kayak, and there is a good hiking trail close by called the Cannonball Trail. A tour to Gateway National Recreation Area is worthwhile. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Hidden Valley is in close proximity to Patex Pond; Ramada Limited is a magnificent location to get some rest. For you golfers we recommend nearby Rockaway River Country Club,       and Patex Pond is not the only spot close by, Lake Valhalla is a close by lake. Summer at Patex Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 80's; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime the highs are frequently in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Patex Pond. There's just no way someone can get bored here at Patex Pond. Patex Pond Dam has good water scenery and it's in the vicinity of Patex                  Pond, and after a long day outdoors Red Roof Inn Parsippany (Nyc) is a wonderful location to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Brookwood Swim and Tennis Club is a delightful campground nearby, naturally you could also go to Boonton Reservoir while you're here; it's not far at all. Get soaked paddling on Rockaway River; the skiing at Mountain Creek is splendid. Patex Pond is a great location to visit for more than one day, Camp Ocawasin Lodge is a great location to camp nearby, and Pyramid Mountain is simple to spot from Patex Pond.
