At Openaka Lake throughout the warm months highs are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are regularly in the 30's, and all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Openaka Lake temperatures descend to the 10's. Openaka Lake Dam is not far at all from Openaka Lake, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Mountain Creek is pretty       near. A lot of rainfall falls at Openaka Lake; the wettest month of the year is commonly August, that's the one that rains the most; February is the month with the least moisture. There's so much to do here at Openaka Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Sun Air Lakeside Camp is a fine place for that, and the skiing at Hidden Valley is nice. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Openaka Lake has to offer, you                  can camp at Brookwood Swim and Tennis Club, and obviously Den Brook is a beautiful stream that is worth visiting. This lake is so wonderful. In case you don’t mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Rockaway River. That right there is plenty already, but it goes on; Openaka Lake has it all. Golf can be played at Peace Pipe Country Club, and India Brook is a magnificent whitewater spot close by. If you need a place to stay Sky Top Motel is a fine choice, and at Openaka Lake you can catch a sight of Trowbridge Mountain.
