Holiday Lake
1 PHOTO
The lake was a popular day vacation spot for people from South Jersey and Philadlephia...from the 50's through 70's!!! There was a lake, swimming pool, concession stand, mini golf, picnic area etc. From what was said before it was sold, they were being forced to sell because of rising insurance rates from of frivolous lawsuits. It sat decaying for years - outside there's a really cool retro style gate right out of the 50's & the sign says Holiday Lake. Beyond it lies a dried out swimming pool full of dirt & grass growing out of it. Dilapidated buildings that were once changing rooms surround the lake. You used to be able to rent bathing suits. There's an old decaying minature golf course and abandoned playground. The entire scene is creepy. Property was bought by a church....

Cooper River Lake
11 miles away
Nice, quiet lake with public launch off of N. Park Drive. Lower portion of the lake is often used by sailboats and crew boats, but the upper portion is generally quiet & makes for a nice paddle...

Newton Lake

Nice place to paddle. Plenty of tributaries to explore. Good amount of waterfowl & turtles!...

Blackwood Lake

New Brooklyn Lake
17 miles away
Horrible! Needs to be renamed the New Brooklyn Swamp. Having a ''canoe launch'' is usually indicative of a nice place to paddle - this place was just plain nasty. The tree debris in the water was unbelievable and blocked off any viable path. Don't waste your time trying to portage over them either...once you scramble over & under all the debris, going left is blocked by a huge beaver dam and the other way becomes too shallow and is so packed by tree and encroaching shoreline you can't get through. What a disappointment...I thought we found a nice little lake close to home for a nice after work paddle......

Aquetong Lake
17 miles away
I live less than a mile from this place. Me, my brother, and his friend decided to try to fish here. We found an old canoe with a tag on it that said 1855. We drained the water and paddled out with toy shovels. 90% of this lake is about 1 foot deep. Once you get to the dam-looking part it drops to about 7-9. We fished for about a half hour. Didn't catch anything, or even see a fish (the waters clear as day)....Great for fishing, late at night when the bugs are flying on the surface, the trout jump out and get them. Too bad they don't go for your hook. I've caught sunnys trout and large mouth there. Great place that nobody else fishes at; my own little secret spot ha ha....

Gropp Lake

We do pretty well at  this little lake.  Caught a 2 pound largemouth and heard there are bigger.  Give it a try....
Write about the fishing. Very nice place to fish with a variety of freshwater fish. There are fishing docks availible plus an easy to luanch boat ramp....

Camp Inawendiwin Lake
18 miles away
Camp Inawendiwin is a girl scout camp. I go all the time. It is so much fun. It is a great trip for a family. I go with my troop and my family....

Kandle Lake
19 miles away
I went to Kandle Lake for the first time this past weekend with my daughters (3 and 5), as guests of another family. We all had a blast. The location was very clean, the lake was full of fun activities, had a sectioned off part for the little kids, two different height diving boards, rope swing, water slide, fountains, etc. We also went in the pool (including the separate kiddie pool). After one visit, I'm planning on buying a membership for next summer, and possibly considering buying a trailer. And this was my first time at a campground!...
