Oakwood Lake usually gets a great deal of rainfall; during the month of August you get the most rain around here, and February is when       it's the driest. What a place this is for outdoors people. The Pine Meadow Trail offers hiking at its best, obviously you could also check out Cold Spring Lake since you're here; it's not far at all. An afternoon playing golf at Sunset Valley Golf Course is always a pleasure, and what would winter be without some skiing at Mt. Peter. Oakwood Lake in fact is in the middle of a pretty outdoors paradise. Oakwood Lake is a good place to visit for more than one day,                  Motor Sports Marina and Campground is a good place to camp nearby, and there's wonderful hiking along the Kakiat Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Oakwood Lake is not the only spot close by, Bogues Pond is a close by lake, and Pequannock River has a pleasant whitewater paddling spot nearby. Camp Ocawasin Lodge is a delightful campground nearby, and Gateway National Recreation Area is a magnificent local destination. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay La Quinta Inn and Suites Wayne is a brilliant choice, and the slopes of Sterling Forest are so inviting nobody can resist. During the summertime highs here at Oakwood Lake reach the 80's while overnight lows are generally in the 50's.
